Sad news from Serbia
On March 18, 2013 the great tragedy struck the family of brother Zoltan Nyul in Pacir (St. Moravica), Serbia. Due to faulty valve on the butan-propan gas bottle their kitchen caught on fire and very quickly spread to the whole house. Nothing could be done, even though Zoltan tried to put out the fire. His wife Viktoria and children managed to escape from the burning house without any harm, but brother Zoltan got some minor burns and cuts on his hands and face. Thank the Lord they are all safe now, though Zoltan spent few hours in the local hospital under observation.
The firemen came quickly, but as said above, nothing could be done. As we visited the site the day after, only the pile of smoldering rubble is left. Nothing could be salvaged, not even the family pictures. Temporarily they moved to the house of in-laws, but the future looks pretty grim as to their options for living. Zoltan and Viktoria have 7 children.
Next thing would be to help them any way we can. This is both in spiritual, material and financial way. Since the house has totally burned, pray for their new house to be built pretty soon. The believers in Serbia are already getting ready to help on the individual and local church level as special account has been set up for this purpose. Hence, this plea for help and challenge is also extended to you abroad. Many of you know brother Zoltan, his 9-member family and his zeal to serve the Lord to his Hungarian people in this area of Serbia.
Visiting brother Zoltan, I can say just one thing: His faith in the Lord and zeal for the ministry has not burned, but continues to burn as ever, even with greater flames! So, pray that the people might not see the flames of their burning house and be astonished, but the flames of God's love and grace in their hearts which is burning as ever. That their testimony may bring many to Christ for salvation.
