Process Has Begun To Find New IBTS Rector
The EBF has begun the process to appoint a new IBTS Rector to succeed Dr Keith Jones who ends his service to IBTS this summer. Interviews will take place in October, and it is hoped that the new Rector will begin sometime in early 2014 based in the new home of IBTS in the 'Baptist House' in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Meanwhile the IBTS Board of Trustees has appointed Dr Parush Parushev as Acting Rector in the interim.
EBF General Secretary Tony Peck commented, IBTS is at the heart of our EBF life, enabling gifted men and women to gain academic qualifications at a high level to enable them to lead and teach in theological education in their own Unions. This new appointment of Rector comes at a critical time in its life. IBTS has also provided a rich experience of a multi- cultural Baptists community of learning which has been highly valued by those who have experienced it, and this too will continue in Amsterdam.
We seek a person of ability, energy and vision to lead IBTS into the next phase of its development. For the right person this will be a demanding but deeply fulfilling role, based in Amsterdam with some excellent interaction with Dutch colleagues in the Faculty of Theology of theVU (Free) University and the Dutch Baptist Seminary. Those of us who are involved in the transition are truly excited by the new possibilities which await us there.
EF member Unions, Conventions, Mission Agencies and IBTS Alumni have all been invited to participate in the search process. Details of the post and how to apply for it can be found here:
